Fertility drugs usually have undesirable side effects in women who want to get pregnant. One option to consider to boost fertility, is the use of herbal remedies. These natural remedies help the uterus become toned and healthy, balance hormones, reduce stress and calm the nervous system.

Some herbs that are considered helpful in overcoming fertility problems are:

Damiana – Stimulates nerves, metabolism, circulation and the genitals. The leaves are used in tonics and teas to restore impotence and sexual vitality. Damiana also helps to relax the nervous system.

Dong Quai – Has been proven successful in promoting fertility during the time between ovulation and menstruation. This herb should only be used in combination with other herbs that promote fertility.

False unicorn root – Used as a tonic to promote a healthy uterus. It also helps the ovaries, bladder and kidneys to become more alkaline.

Nettle leaves – Chlorophyll and minerals contained in this herb are great to balance hormones. When used as a tonic, it helps to keep the uterus healthy. Kidneys and the adrenal glands are also benefited by the use of nettle leaves.

Raspberry leaf – This is perhaps the most popular of all herbal remedies used to increase fertility. It’s high in calcium and is also used as a tonic for the uterus.

Red clover blossom – Some consider this as the most useful herb to increase fertility and establish pregnancy. Used daily, it can help balance hormones. This herb is also high in magnesium and calcium and contains trace minerals.

Calcium and Magnesium are also important in ensuring the conception of a healthy baby and the ability to carry it for the full nine months. Research the use of vitamins, minerals and herbs to better understand how you can benefit from their use in the quest to establish a pregnancy.

Fertility problems are complicated and varied, but many couples have used herbal remedies with excellent results. Keep in mind that nutrition and lifestyle can be important factors in treating infertility.

Unfortunately, abusive relationships are all too common in today’s society. It is very possible that you know of someone or you yourself are stuck in this bad situation.

Sometimes the person involved is too close to the situation to recognize that they are in an abusive relationship. What makes it even harder is that there many different forms of abuse in a relationship. Physical abuse is easier to recognize since the signs are obvious. However, emotional and physical abuses are equally destructive in a relationship. It may take a long time to heal completely and in some cases impossible without seeking professional therapy.

The problem is compounded by the fact that almost all relationships start well. No one knowingly gets involved in an abusive relationship. The gradual and small changes lead to a destructive situation.

The victim in the relationship is subjected to abuse, especially the emotional kind over such a long time that she/he begins to accept it as normal behavior. The abuser continues to brainwash the victim and gains complete control over the relationship. It reaches the point where the victim begins to believe that she/he is responsible for initiating the abuse instead of the other way round. It sets in motion a destructive cycle of abuse and guilt.

Victims in such relationships may be in denial that they’re even experiencing any abuse. They can rationalize even the most abusive behavior as justified.

You don’t have to suffer in silence. Instead choose to live a happier and healthier life by learning to recognize the signs and patterns of an abusive relationship, so you can either leave or seek help.

Lookout for the following signs of abuse:

Isolation – have you been asked to minimize or cut off ties with your family and friends? This is the abuser’s way of isolating you from your loved ones and making you completely dependent on him/her in an effort to gain complete control.

Finances – are you dependent on your partner for every financial decision or do you have an equal say in financial matters in your relationship? Controlling money is probably the easiest way for the abuser to gain full control and cut off your financial freedom.

Verbal/emotional abuse: are you being subjected to constant criticism for the smallest thing? Do you feel like you can never please your partner no matter how hard you try? Does the abuser hurl insults at you and call you mean names? Constant arguments over the smallest thing or nitpicking can be a sign of verbal abuse, which can erode your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Physical abuse: has your partner struck in the heat of an argument? This may be the obvious form of abuse but there is so much shame and guilt felt by the victim that many of them never come forward and report the incidents until it is too late. Be careful “playing rough” in the bedroom. Sometimes these games can quickly escalate from “spicing up things” to outright physical abuse.

There are many other forms of abuse that can take place in a bad relationship. The key to remember is if you suspect that there is abuse taking place in your relationship, seek help from friends and even professionals. Don’t be afraid to speak frankly about your suspicions and they can be witnesses if you ever need to report your case to the police. There are many free sources of advice and guidance available at your local women’s shelter or domestic violence center.

Seek immediate help if you suspect you’re being abused. Don’t be a silent victim of an abusive relationship.

Male impotence is when a man can’t get or maintain an erection during sexual stimulation. The word “impotence” may also be used to describe other problems that interfere with sexual intercourse and reproduction, such as lack of sexual desire and problems with ejaculation or orgasm.

There are many reasons for male impotence, but the primary causes are illness, psychological, unknown causes that go undiagnosed or a combination of these reasons.

There are more physical problems than psychological reasons for male impotence. These include diseases such as diabetes, heart or muscular problems and addiction to alcohol or drugs.

Some prescription medications can also cause impotence. Common psychological problems include being in a bad relationship, worry (financial, career or loved ones), anxiety and depression.

There are several drugs that are available that can help alleviate these difficulties.

As men age, certain problems such as hardening of the arteries can prevent a man from receiving enough blood flow to the penis to maintain an erection. Impotence is the major complaint from men over forty years of age.

Sometimes a combination of occurrences, both physical and mental, may cause erectile dysfunction in men. For example, if a man has a physical problem that he’s unaware of, he may become distressed and depressed when he’s unable to get an erection. It’s extremely important to find out if there’s a physical cause for impotence so that it can be treated – then, the mental anguish should disappear.

Another common reason that a man may experience occasional impotence is when there are distractions during intimacy. For example, if the phone rings during a period of sexual stimulation, the man may become distracted by the noise and unable to maintain the erection. Children or pets can also cause distraction, and if an interruption occurs during sex, the man may be unable to recreate the “mood” in order to perform sexually.

If a man is turned off sexually by insensitive comments from his lover, erectile dysfunction may occur. This type of psychological problem can be overcome by talking to the sex partner about feelings and sensitivity. Both partners may need to seek help from a professional to learn how to deal with the feelings, and the problem can eventually be overcome.

Other controllable reasons for erectile dysfunction could be associated with the prostate gland. This usually occurs in men over forty-five years old and is completely controllable when you seek help from a doctor. Prostate inflammation (Prostatitis) is a very common condition among men and erectile dysfunction or impotence can be the result.

It’s important to seek a health care professional’s help and be absolutely truthful in relaying your problems to him or her so that he can correctly diagnose the cause for male impotence or erectile dysfunction.

Erectile dysfunction, or ED, can be a total inability to achieve erection, an inconsistent ability to do so, or a tendency to sustain only brief erections. These variations make defining ED and estimating its incidence difficult. Estimates range from 15 million to 30 million, depending on the definition used.

Erectile dysfunction is a sensitive subject and most men would rather avoid talking to their significant other if and when they do experience it. But erectile dysfunction is a serious problem that should be discussed with your spouse or lover so that you’ll know how and which treatment options are right for you.

You might be in one of two situations. Either your lover has erectile dysfunction, and you want to talk tot him about it – or you have the problem and would like to talk to your partner about it. You need to know how to handle either situation.

How to talk to your partner if he suffers from erectile dysfunction (ED):

Be sensitive. Let your partner know in a sensitive and understanding manner that you want to help him deal with his problem. Offer to go to the doctor with him so that he’ll know the level of your concern and eagerness to work with him to resolve his erectile dysfunction problem both physically and emotionally.

Never blame him. Don’t blame your lover for his inability to get and maintain an erection. Don’t even tease him about it. The psychological impact on him may be devastating

Approach him with knowledge. Let him know that many other men also suffer from erectile dysfunction and that treatment options are readily available.

How to talk to your partner if you suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED):

Don’t rush into a discussion. Approach the subject of your sex life at a time when you aren’t stressed or in the middle of an argument. And, make sure you have the time and privacy you’ll need to discuss the problem for as long as you need to.

Do your Research and be ready with suggestions. There is so much information available about erectile dysfunction that you should be able to research causes and treatments that might be right for the two of you.

Tell your lover how important this problem is to you. Don’t diminish the effects that erectile dysfunction has had on your relationship.

No matter which side of the problem you’re on, be sure that you express how you feel to the other person. You may be angry, sad, frustrated or hurt about this difficulty in your relationship. However, when you talk openly and continue to be honest with each other, together you can decide on the best course of action for both of you.

Advances in suppositories, injectable medications, implants, and vacuum devices have expanded the options for men seeking treatment for ED. These advances have also helped increase the number of men seeking treatment. Gene therapy for ED is now being tested in several centers and may offer a long-lasting therapeutic approach for ED.

Because of the high cost of professional relationship counseling or therapy, many couples are forced to forgo outside help even if they realize that their relationship may be in trouble. Most relationships go through their ups and downs and not every situation requires outside counseling to resolve the problem.

The good news for those who find themselves in this particular situation – or even when one partner simply isn’t willing to go into therapy – is that there are things you can do that can lead to self-healing and repairing a relationship that may be damaged.

Please keep in mind that I’m not suggesting DiY relationship counseling as a replacement for professional help, merely a stopgap alternative.

Doing your own relationship counseling doesn’t mean that you’re less committed to the success of your relationship as compared to other couples. It may simply be a case of others having a higher threshold of tolerance for an outsider (even if it is a qualified counselor) probing into their private lives and having the money to afford professional relationship counseling.

Do-it-yourself relationship counseling can be done as one partner or as a couple, although it’s much more effective when both people participate. We’ve become a society of do-it-yourselfers, so it only makes sense that we apply this concept to our relationships instead of limiting it to only simple home improvement projects.

There are many different styles of self-therapy available to you. Before you begin, you may want to check out some books on the various relationship counseling styles and pick up tips and advice. It helps a lot if the two of you read the relationship guides together to gain a little insight on your specific problem(s) and the best approach to take to resolve your differences.

Here are a few relationship therapy styles that are popular with do-it-yourselfers.

One highly recommended style of DiY relationship therapy is known as the Imago, which is Latin for ‘match’ style. You can find many books on this topic either online or at your local library. The important thing is that you take as many steps as possible together.

Role-playing is another great way to obtain valuable insight on how you perceive your partner as well as how he or she sees you. You may learn a lot about how the English language is woefully inadequate at conveying precise messages. You may intend to say one thing and your partner may hear something else entirely. It’s important to learn how to communicate with one another positively and accurately. Working together through self-therapy and role-playing can help you achieve that.

Positive thinking is a great place to start. Whenever the roads of romance become a little too rocky for comfortable travel, it’s time to take a step back and remind each other why you fell in love in the first place.

Make a list, write a letter, write a poem, or take a few minutes to hold each other and dance. Remind each other of the wonderful person you are when unencumbered with the worries of the world, children, finances, and the world outside the circle of your arms.

Try to use some of these ideas the next time your relationship runs into a rough patch and see if you can get through it together. As a couple, you’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment and joy if you can successfully solve your problem with do-it-yourself relationship counseling.

They say that a good woman won’t care about your size. If she loves you for who you are, it wouldn’t matter how big (or small) your penis is.

A man who has had size issues obviously did not write that. As a man, you feel less confident and it tends to hurt your self-esteem.

Most women don’t actually care about the size of the penis. For them, it’s more about how the man uses whatever he has. But penis size can detract from a sexual experience if the man is so small that he can’t remain inside the vagina for any length of time.

Over time, size has come to matter more. Ancient Greeks generally regarded a small penis with more desirability. Larger penises were seen as gross and comical.

Today, the outlook has changed and men desire a larger penis because they feel it relates to their virility as a man. It is now a cliché to ask, “Does size really matter?”

Many men actually mistake the length of their penis, thinking they’re smaller than they actually are because they’re looking down and gaining an inaccurate view. The average penis size is five to seven inches long.

In a 2005 study, 55% of men said they were not satisfied with the size of their penis. On the other hand, 85% of their partners were very happy with the size of their penises.

A perfect size means different things to different people. Luckily, there are many male enhancement products on the market today so you won’t have to wait and worry anymore – you can do something about it if you’re not satisfied!

To know your size accurately, measure it many different times and in different states of erection. Measure from the base of the penis to the tip. That’s the length. Now, measure the girth in three different places while you’re erect – at the base, below the glans penis, and right in the middle of the penis shaft.

Now, you no longer have to worry about your penis size. You have many options to increase its size. That’s why male enhancement products are so popular today.

However, the size of your penis should not be such a big issue that you risk your health. Whatever male enhancement product or method you use, you need to be careful that it won’t damage the nerves or cause other permanent damage to your sexual organs. Know the difference and only use male enhancement products that will not cause irreparable harm.

Some poorly made male enhancement products can cause side effects that irritate the penis, resulting in swelling that the buyer mistakenly believes is penile growth.

There’s plenty of information out there when it comes to male sex drive. Viagra® or some other type of “enhancer” are advertised frequently in magazines and commercials run regularly on prime-time TV.

Women often have issues with libido or sex drive too, but the problem is often brushed off as women not being as sexually driven as men. Nothing could be further from the truth. Women have just as deep a need and desire for sex as men.

Just as a man’s sex drive decreases with age, there are some things that will reduce the female libido or sex drive. Fortunately, they are all treatable!

Here are some of the causes of reduced libido or sex drive in women:

Hormones – As women enter their perimenopause and menopause, hormones begin to fluctuate wildly. These hormonal imbalances are often accompanied by other symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings and weight gain. Women often just don’t feel “sexy” when experiencing these symptoms. It is interesting to note that females (human) need their own pheromones to feel turned on. Lack of pheromones makes it more difficult to be in the “mood for sex.”

Physical Changes – As women age and get closer to the years of menopause, changes take place in the vagina due to lowered levels of estrogen. This may cause thinning of the mucus membranes, along with a loss of elasticity in the walls of the vagina and an uncomfortable feeling of dryness. This can cause pain during intercourse, so a woman may begin to dread sex because of the pain.

Daily stresses – Stress is one of the major causes of lack of sex drive or reduced libido in women. Stress robs the body of many of the essential building blocks it needs to produce estrogen and testosterone. Both estrogen and testosterone are a necessary for a healthy sex drive. When over-stressed, a body will choose to try to protect itself and conserve energy rather than seek sexual pleasure.

Emotional issues with spouse/partner – Sometimes the stress of a relationship that isn’t working dampens sexual desire. Often this happens after several years into the relationship when a woman enters perimenopause or menopause. Her feelings about “how life should be” begin to change. Behavior that was once tolerated is now resented, making it harder to enjoy a healthy sex life.

Poor nutrition – Quick weight loss diets and/or very low-fat diets are bad for a woman’s sex drive. The body needs lipids (found in fats) to make hormones, including testosterone which can boost a woman’s sex drive.

Social norms – Some women grow up with the belief that once you reach “a certain age,” your sex life is over. It’s no longer socially appropriate to consider yourself a sexual being. This mindset will have an adverse effect on a woman’s libido or sex drive.

Marital status – Sometimes being single and the whole prospect of dating is just too overwhelming. So some single women avoid it and give up having sex.

For women, rediscovering their sex drive isn’t as easy as taking a small pill a few hours before intercourse as men do. However, it’s not impossible to regain your libido and enjoy sex with all the exuberance that you did before.

Here are some tips that may help:

Have an honest talk with your doctor – Don’t automatically assume that hormone replacement therapy is going to be your best bet if you are perimenopausal or menopausal. See your doctor to discuss options and rule out other possible problems.

Relax – Stress is a major player in wreaking havoc with sex drive. Explore the many ways available to reduce stress in your life. Exercise, meditate, pray, write in a journal, take time each day for YOU, go to the salon once a week for a pedicure, take a walk in the park, see a counselor, take a kick-boxing class. You get the idea. Find ways to relax, even if it’s for ten minutes a day.

Address the physical changes in your body – If you’re suffering from vaginal dryness and discomfort, use vitamin E suppositories a couple of times a week, or go to the pharmacy and purchase a personal lubricant made especially for helping with this problem.

See a nutritionist – Make sure your diet is correct for your needs. Also, ask about vitamin, mineral and/or herbal supplements that may help.

Be sexy, feel sexy – So, you might not be 20 any longer. You can still be sexy and hot. Go to the makeup counter at your favorite store and learn some new makeup tricks. Freshen your hairstyle, put on a sexy fragrance and light some candles. It’s amazing what wonders small changes like these can produce.

Communicate – Your partner probably has no idea what’s going on. Be open and honest. Let your partner know what you need to help things along. Maybe you need some time and understanding until the hormones or supplements kick in. Maybe you need to see a couple’s counselor. Do your best to communicate openly.

Sex drive is an important part of human life. We are meant to enjoy sex well into our golden years. If you are suffering from a waning libido, there are steps you can take to refresh your desire for sex.
